Critics’ award supported by the UCC and UPCB

The UPCB (Belgian Film Press Association) was founded in 1925. In cooperation with the UCC (Belgian Film Critics Association), created in 1954, the two associations award the Critics’ Prize in numerous festivals in Wallonia, Flanders and Brussels.

The purpose of the associations is to promote the artistic and cultural values of cinema in the media, without losing sight of the commercial aspects.

With this in mind, it seemed natural for the UPCB and the UCC to have a presence at Ramdam, to provide their support to a Festival which, by its very concept and thanks to a quality programme, aims to encourage continuous reflection on hard-hitting themes.

The Press Prize for best documentary in the 2016 edition was awarded to Andrew Morgan for “True Cost”.

The jury was made up of Christie Huysmans (Ciné femme), Aniko Ozoraï (Notélé), Audrez Ronlez (Vers l’Avenir), Pascal Lepoutte (Vers l’Avenir) and Waleed Obeed (freelance foreign journalist).
